Wyoming State Bar Foundation
Wyoming Association of Nonprofit Organizations

The State Bar Foundation was established as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation in 1981 to

  • Provide civil legal services to the poor of Wyoming, who would otherwise be unable to obtain legal assistance;
  • Provide public education projects which promote a knowledge and awareness of the law; and
  • Provide projects which improve the administration of justice.

Since 1989, the Foundation has awarded over $900,000.00 in grants to agencies and programs in Wyoming which are dedicated to the above goals. Foundation members are attorneys from who are committed to accomplishing the Foundation's goals. The Foundation is governed by an eleven member Board of Directors, elected from the membership. It is within the Board of Directors' discretion to determine if an application falls within the Foundation's mission.

Important Notice to Wyoming Attorneys and Financial Institutions:


New FDIC Rule Creates Unlimited Protection for IOLTA Accounts


The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) announced on November 21, 2008, that effective immediately client funds deposited in IOLTA accounts at participating financial intuitions are eligible for unlimited deposit insurance coverage as part of the Temporary Liquidity Guarantee Program (TLGP). All funds in an IOLTA account, regardless of size, will now be insured in full by the FDIC and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government, as part of the Temporary Account Guarantee (TAG) provisions of the TLGP. Financial institutions opting out of the TAG coverage must display a notification to customers. The additional coverage is in effect until December 31, 2009, unless extended. Mission Statement
The Wyoming State Bar Foundation will provide funding for legal services to the people of Wyoming who would otherwise be unable to afford legal assistance, and to promote, through financial support and other means, public education projects to facilitate knowledge and awareness of the law and to improve the administration of justice.
