| Equal Justice Campaign
 Over 200 Wyoming attorneys have contributed nearly $11,000 to the Wyoming State Bar Foundation's Equal Justice Campaign. The Bar Foundation will use the contributions to support civil legal services to the poor through local programs it funds. Funds from the 2004-2005 Equal Justice Campaign will go to the University of Wyoming College of Law Legal Services Program and Domestic Violence Legal Assistance Project. The clinic is staffed by student attorneys, who work under the direction of Prof. John M. Burman and Dona Playton.
"So many low-income people in our state are struggling with crushing legal problems, like homelessness or domestic violence, and there are very few places they can go to get legal help," explained Bar Foundation Executive Director Leigh Anne Manlove. "There is no Emergency Room or Medicaid or Medicare for legal issues. This helps close the gap a little," she said. Manlove is gratified by the fine response, which is a powerful commitment to professionalism. "The Equal Justice Campaign is an example of Wyoming-licensed attorneys digging into their own pockets to advance the cause of equal justice," Manlove said. "Our attorneys' generosity will make a meaningful difference to the providers of civil legal aid and their clients," she continued. Steven Cranfill, the Bar Foundation President, said, "It's a great time to help others, and take pride in being a Wyoming Lawyer."
